EasyEye is a Windows application that turns a webcam into a motion-detection recorder. This page explains what data EasyEye handles, where it goes, and what stays entirely on your device.
What EasyEye stores locally
- Video clips and snapshots — saved only to the folder you choose on your own PC (by default, a folder under your Documents). EasyEye does not upload clips to Stillstack Labs or any third-party server.
- Settings — camera preference, sensitivity, retention, schedule, and similar preferences are stored in a local config file in your Documents folder.
- Gmail app password (optional) — if you enable email alerts, your Gmail app password is stored using the Windows Credential Manager, the same secure OS-level vault used by browsers and other Windows apps. It is never written to a plain text file and never transmitted to Stillstack Labs.
Where data leaves your device
- Email alerts (optional) — if enabled, EasyEye connects directly to Gmail's SMTP server (
smtp.gmail.com) using your credentials to send you a motion snapshot by email. This connection is between your PC and Google; Stillstack Labs is not in the middle of it and does not receive a copy. - Cloud storage (optional) — if you point your clips folder at a OneDrive (or similar) folder, syncing is handled entirely by that provider's own client software, under their own privacy policy. EasyEye has no integration with or visibility into that sync.
What EasyEye does not do
- No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking.
- No advertising or ad identifiers.
- No account or sign-in required.
- No sale or sharing of any data — there is no data collected by Stillstack Labs to sell or share in the first place.
Camera access
EasyEye accesses your webcam only while running and only to display a live preview and perform on-device motion detection. Video is processed locally; no frames are sent anywhere unless you have enabled email alerts (a single snapshot per motion event, sent to the address you configured) or chosen to store clips in a cloud-synced folder you control.
Your choices
- Delete clips at any time via the app or by deleting the files directly.
- Disable or remove email alerts at any time from the Alerts panel.
- Set an automatic retention period to delete old clips automatically.
- Uninstall the app to remove it. A few things are deliberately left in place so you don't lose data, and you can remove them yourself:
- Clips — your clips folder and its contents stay where they are; delete the files or folder yourself if you no longer want them.
- Settings — the config file lives in
Documents\EasyEye\; delete that folder to remove it. - Gmail app password — if you enabled email alerts, the stored password remains in Windows Credential Manager as an entry named
EasyEye-StillstackLabs. Remove it via Control Panel → Credential Manager → Windows Credentials, or by deleting the password in the app's Alerts panel before uninstalling. - Launch at startup — if you turned this on from inside the app, the startup entry may remain as a value named
EasyEyeunderHKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Turn the option off in the app before uninstalling, or remove the entry in Task Manager's Startup apps tab.
Children
EasyEye is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
